 Writing has been part of my life ever since college days when I wrote poetry just for fun but which also got published in the Walla Walla College literary magazine. I met my husband, Burton Maxwell, at college and have been happily married ever since. His work as a pastor took us all over the United States and led us into experiences running the gamut from humorous to heart-rending.Through the years I put in a lot of hours as a church volunteer, then in the 1990's was hired to be a full-time associate pastor with my husband at a church in Riverside, CA. I enjoyed the pastoral role immensely and am still involved as a Bible class teacher and small group leader. Music has been an on-going hobby ever since my childhood. I sing, play the piano and organ. I also enjoy working out at a local fitness center, swimming and walking. Our son, Dan, works as a university librarian and is also completing a PhD in human development from Fielding Graduate University. His wife, Debbie, writes on-line university courses. Our daughter, Pat, works in marketing and her two sons are in college. My husband and I like to travel, but when we're not criss-crossing the country, we're at home in San Diego, California with our dog, Winston, who makes sure we walk every day. |
